FUNERAL FOR MRS. COLEMAN A. DEITZ HELD AT WARNE
Mrs. Coleman [Candas] A. Deitz, 64, died at her home at Warne in Clay County at 8 o’clock a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 1948 after a long illness. Mrs. Deitz was a native of Macon County but lived for a number of years at Cullowhee before moving to Warne. She was a faithful member of the Baptist church from childhood until death.
Funeral services were held at Old Brasstown Baptist church on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Henry Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.
She is survived by her husband, Coleman A. Deitz, two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Buchanan of Gay, Jackson County; Mrs. Clyde Messer of Hiawassee, Georgia; three sons, J.E. Deitz of Young Harris, Georgia, Henry of Hiawassee, Georgia, and Robert of Warne; fourteen grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Jones and Mrs. Hester Bradley of Richwood, West Virginia, and mrs. Delcie Greene of Wilmot; three brothers, Jack Mashburn and Ross Mashburn of Franklin, and Lawrence Mashburn of Warne, one half-brother, Buster Mashburn of Franklin, and half-sister Mrs. Lou Etta Franks of Warne.
