Douglas Wayne Hawkins, 68, of rural Texico, passed away at 7:28 P.M. Thursday, April 30, 2020 At SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Mr. Hawkins worked several years at Continental Tire in Mt. Vernon and owned a Heating & Cooling business for a while. Surrounded by his family he fought a brave fight with cancer the past several years.

A Private Graveside Services will be held at the Panther Fork Cemetery at a later date with Pastor John Ashby officiating. Memorial Donations may be made the Panther Fork Cemetery. L.R. Osborn & Son is honored to assist the Hawkins Family.

Douglas is survived his mother, Opal Hawkins; two daughters of Ashley and Springfield, Illinois; a son of Alton; five grandchildren; a brother of Centralia; two sisters of Centralia and Iuka.

He was born October 3, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, son of Frank and Opal (Meador) Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Frank Hawkins and a grandson Shalin D. Barns.
