A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home until time of service.
Diane was born October 9, 1945 to Isaac and Verdna Sawyer James. She was baptized at a very early age at Mount Zion Baptist Church No.2 in Loreauville, LA where she resided most of her life. She was an active member of Assembly Christian Church in New Iberia, LA. Her last days were spent at New Iberia Manor North in New Iberia, LA.
Diane departed this life on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
She graduated from Jonas Henderson High School in 1963, where she was Treasurer of the Student Council. She was a graduate of Grambling University, having received a B.S. Degree in Education in 1967. For many years she taught school in Saint Martin Parish until her retirement.
Diane was a faithful servant on this earth with a lifetime commitment of devotion to God, the Head of her life. Her faith and love for Jesus Christ was a true testament throughout her Christian Life.
Diane will be sadly missed by a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Pallbearers will be relatives of the family.
Diane’s Life Legacy is in the scripture reading II Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
