OAnita Daniels, 90, of Overland Park, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020, in her home surrounded by love. She was born to the late Joseph and Eleanor Kopin and raised with her sister Lois in Kansas City. Along with their beloved mother, the two sisters were inseparable and went on to create two close-knit families that, to this day, feel and act as one. Anita graduated from Paseo High School and attended college for three years before meeting the love of her life, Harry. Within seven weeks the pair was engaged and enjoyed a happy, loving marriage for 57 years before Harry’s passing in 2007. Her life was filled with passions for family, travel, fashion, exercise, cooking and baking, needlework, the arts, theater, volunteering, Mah Jong, and bridge. She had a drive and a spirit that enabled her to overcome setbacks in life that were simply amazing and despite these obstacles, her positive outlook never wavered. Family celebrations, whether big or small, near or far, provided some of her greatest joys in life—she was always one of the best dressed attendees and the last to leave any party.

Anita was a lifelong member of Congregation Beth Shalom, a life member of its Sisterhood and Hadassah, a charter member of Meadowbrook Country Club, and member of the Jewish Community Center.

In addition to Harry, Anita was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Maynard Rosenbloom, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jean and Art Zurovsky, Mollie and Sol Daniels, and Diane and Larry Jaben.

She is survived by her children, son Richard Daniels and Stanley Goldberg, son Robert and Cindy Daniels, her grandchildren, Jeffrey Daniels and fiancé Leah Cole, and Marla Daniels, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous cousins and friends.

Private graveside services due to COVID-19 will be held at Mt. Carmel on May 4, 2020. Memorial donations may be made to Village Shalom, Congregation Beth Shalom (Anita and Harry Daniels Camp Ramah Scholarship Fund), or to the charity of one’s choice.bituary to follow
