He was preceded in death by his wife Pamela Townsend; parents, Curtis Livvie Townsend and Edna Mae Dennison Townsend; brothers, Curtis Lee Townsend, Troy Steven Townsend, Steven Wayne Townsend, Robert Lebron Townsend and Charles Edward Townsend.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Eric and Junie Townsend of Fairmont; daughters, Amanda Cargle of Dalton, Evelyn Fay Townsend of Dalton; brother, Melvin Townsend of Dalton; sister, Selena Pearl Townsend Hice and Danny Lee Sosebee; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a service at West Hill Cemetery.
