On April 27th , Rodney was called to spend eternal life with our Lord, after a courageous battle of several difficult autoimmune diseases.

Rod was born on December 10, 1941 in Saginaw, MI to Harold and Jean Hunt. He proudly served his country as a Radioman in the US Navy until 1962. On August 28, 1965 he married his childhood friend, Carolyn Goslin. Together, they raised one daughter, Shawn and one son, Rodney II.

Rod had a passion for playing softball and golf. At the young age of 45, his men's modified softball team won the state championship, with him pitching every game and gaining the title The Big Kahuna by teammates. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Rod would say he lived the American dream. Rod has a loving and close family, friends across the country, and an unwavering relationship with his Lord.

Rod was preceded in death by his father Harold, mother Jean, and brothers Jerry and Larry. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Shawn Hunt, son Rodney (Jessica) Hunt, grandson Mathew (Randi-Nicole) Frost, granddaughter Sabrina Vetengle, grandson Stuart Vetengle, sister Dee (Neils) Larson, brother Kevin (Karen) Hunt, brother Kent (Joan) Hunt, and many nieces, and nephews.

His Celebration of Life will be held at a later time, both in Saginaw, MI and The Villages, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 15699 SE 80th Ave, Summerfield, FL 34491, his home of worship.
