Nicholas H. Befort, 70, Of Bellechester, Dies
Bellechester - Nicholas H. Befort, 70, longtime resident of Bellechester and a blacksmith here for 48 years, died Thursday night at Lake City Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Befort was born Feb. 7, 190, in Mazeppa and married Veronica Majerus Oct 18, 1927, in Bellechester. The couple resided there all their married lives and Mr. Befort was a self-employed blacksmith. survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Joan) Abraham of Lake City; a son, Donald of Lake City; two brothers, Lewis and Lawrence, both of Mazeppa, a sister, Mrs. Peter (Isabel) Hofschulte of Mazeppa; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Chruch here with the Rev. Leonard Siebenaler officiating. Burial will be in the chuch cemetery. Freinds may call at the Larson Funeral Home in Zumbrota this afternoon and evening and Saturday morning until the time of the services. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home today at 8 p.m. Pall bearers will be Conrad Hofschulte James and William Majerus, Howard Schafer, Donald Mahoney and Frank Poncelet.
