Graveside Funeral Services for Joyce Burge Wells, age 95, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Monday, April 27, 2020, were held Thursday, April 30, 2020, at 10:00 am at New Palestine Cemetery.
Burial was in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. R.T. Buckley officiated the service.
A native of Henleyfield, MS, over the years she was employed in bookkeeping and secretarial positions at Mississippi Power Company, First Federal, Picayune City Hall and Standard Container. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Burge and Lizzie Burks Burge; her husband of 68 years, Raymond E. Wells; her sisters, Lois Cooper, Alice Smith, and Mary Stuart Burge; and her granddaughter, Tonya Malley.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Randall (Diana) Wells, and Jean (Tim) Kellar; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Wells, Rustin (Keri) Wells, Jordan Kellar, and Evan Kellar; 4 great grandchildren, Brock Malley, Aubrie Melarine, Kieran Wells, and Kellen Wells; her sisters, Maude Harris, and Gayle Stockstill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
