Daniel Russell
89, of Port Austin, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020, in the comfort of his son’s home in Mussey Township.
He was born in Detroit, February 4, 1931, the son of the late Louis and Dorothy (Bero) Russell.
His marriage to Nancy Jamison was February 15, 1964, in East Detroit. Nancy passed away January 9, 2018.
Daniel worked as a lab technician for Eaton Corporation for 38 years before his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Port Austin American Legion Post #499 and served our county in the United States Army stationed in Germany from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. Daniel loved living in Port Austin. He was able to enjoy fishing, boating, and hunting. He also enjoyed reading the news paper and doing projects with his son, Sam. Daniel has the best sense of humor and was always making someone laugh.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Theresa Russell of Mussey Township; six grandchildren, Samantha and Renee Russell, Adam (Kirsten) Herndon, and Heather, Dylan and Melissa Day; four great-grandchildren, Makenna, Baylee, Quinn, and Ella, a sister, Valerie (Ed) Sinnamon; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph and sister, Diana.
