Delores Freeman age 81, wife of the late Joseph "Tom" Freeman, and resident of Ansonia, passed away Jan. 13, 2018. Born July 1, 1936 in Ansonia, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Ethel Marshall-Sanders. She was a lifelong active member of the Star of Bethlehem Church in Ansonia where she sang in the choir, and served as an usher. She worked for a number of years at Webbers Cleaner, Ansonia until their closing in the 1980’s. Delores was predeceased by her daughter April Freeman-Brown, a sister Eleanor Sanders-Thomas, and her brothers Harvey Jr., Norman, Frederick, and Carl. She is survived by her children Dennis (Laurie) Freeman of Bozrah, Joseph Freeman of Ansonia, Mark (Theresa) Freeman Sr. of Seymour, David Freeman of Ansonia, and Dana (Alicia) Freeman Sr., of Ansonia, and Mia Freeman-Hoff of Waterbury , 21 grandchildren, including Merissa Nicole Brown & Maurice Hugh Brown, whom she raised after April’s passing, 2 sisters, Ethel Sanders-Mills of Ansonia, and Marion Sanders-Robinson of Windsor, and a host of great grandchildren. Home going services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Star of Bethlehem Church in Ansonia. Friends may call at Church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, is entrusted with arrangements.
