Vickie Matthews Green, 62, of Lubbock passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 in Lubbock. Vickie was born on July 12, 1957 in Lubbock to Allen Ted Matthews and Patsy Sue Pratt Matthews. She graduated from Coronado High School in 1975 and had worked as a nurse’s assistant and as a housekeeper. She had been a member of the Alcoholics Anonymous Hub of the Plains, a member of Live Oak Community Church, and a resident of Lubbock her entire life. She loved to play golf, was fun loving and giving, always helping people, and opening her home to anyone in need. She was known by her family as “Bebe”.
Vickie is survived by her mother, Patsy Matthews of Lubbock, 2 sons, Matt Green of Lubbock and Tanner and Paige Green of Lubbock, 3 siblings, Edward and Pam Matthews of Lubbock, Steve and Keri Matthews of Lubbock, and Robin and Tom Boudreau of Lubbock, and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Ted Matthews, and grandmothers, Bonnie Sue Pratt and Gertrude Cook.
Memorials may be sent to Live Oak Community Church or Alcoholics Anonymous Hub of the Plains.
Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock. Memorial services are being planned for a later date.
