Steve Michael Long of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away peacefully at his home at 8:30am January 17, 2020. Born on June 16, 1940. Steve graduated Northside High School in 1958, attended St. Francis University for Elementary Education. Retired from Navistar after 30 years of tireless work.

Former Private Pilot, Photographer, Magician, Avid Outdoorsman, Boy Scout Leader, Wood Worker, Real Estate Investor, Construction Company Co-owner, Elder of Doctrine and Reconciliation, Bible Scholar, Ordained Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, Church Bus Program Coordinator, Insurance Salesmen and Investment Advisor, Mortgage Broker, Insurance and Securities Pre-licensing Instructor, Hunter’s Safety Instructor, Trap and Skeet League Champion, Hunter, Avid Defender of the 2nd Amendment, Competitive fisherman, Storyteller Extraordinaire, Entrepreneur, Mentor, and Teacher.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Long (1967), father Clarence “Carney” Long (1997), mother Mildred “Mickie” Long (1998). He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Bauman-Long, his brother, Patrick (Kathy) Long, his two children: Mark (Lisa) Long, Sara (Bryan) Wigge, and his 6 grandchildren: Saige (Stephanie) Wigge, Rilee Long, Wil Wigge, Mason Long, Asher Wigge, and Haley Long.

Services to be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lake Twp., 7914 W. Cook Road at 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2020 with calling 1 hour before service. A dinner will follow the ceremony in the fellowship hall to celebrate Steve’s life and the impact he had on so many through the years.

Preferred Memorials to the NRA, Heartland Hospice, or Donor’s Choice in Steve’s name.
