Norma Allene (Burley) Caswell was born on December 24, 1929 on the family farm in Milford, Michigan, one of eleven children born to James Richard Burley and Elizabeth Kate (Clark) Burley. She passed away peacefully at home, in the care of her family, on April 27, 2020.

She was active at West Highland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was on the Deacon Board, Missionary Board, and taught Vacation Bible School. Norma married Clare Norton Caswell July 1, 1949 and they celebrated their 70th anniversary last July. Together, they raised four children, were active members of their church, helped serve Meals on Wheels while they were in their 80’s, and were charter members of the Lynch & Sons All Weather No Excuses Non-Denominational Varsity Walking Squad.

Norma loved her family more than anything and was always there for them.

She will be missed by many, especially her husband of seventy years, Clare Norton Caswell; her children, Fredrick James (Onalee) Caswell, John (Jeanne) Caswell, Janice Caswell, and Jeffery (Rosanna) Caswell; grandchildren, Lahring Caswell, Lynette (Patrick) Piejak, Joshua Caswell, Holli (Brian) Berner, Jennifer (Clay) Hendrixson, Heather Caswell, Christen (Michael) Knight, Ashley (Andrew) Lewis, Sarah (David) Barnes, and Daniel Lima; twenty great-grandchildren (with two on the way in July and September); sisters, Thelma Burley Armstrong (the late Howard) and Juanita (George) Burley Rogers as well as extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Caswell,; her great-grandson, Tyler Sweeney, her parents, and her siblings, Hazel Burley, Ralph Burley, Harold Burley, Irma Jean (Burley) Marshall, Mildred (Burley) Kelly, Roy Burley, David Murray Burley, Barbara Ann (Burley) Ries.

A Funeral Service will be held PRIVATELY at West Highland Baptist Church, on Thursday, April 30, at 11AM. Burial will follow in Milford Memorial Cemetery, Milford.
