Obituary
Norma Johnson Patterson was born October 17, 1925 in Blanding, Utah to Glen R. Johnson and Margaret Ellen Palmer Johnson. Norma joined her brothers Sylvan and Keith as the third child and first daughter. Leon Joined their family, then Carl, Dona and Glenna Lee.

The Family lived on a farm south of Cortez Colorado at the time of her birth, but was born in Blanding. They moved to Blanding Utah when Norma was fifteen. She attended San Juan High School in Blanding. She was a cheerleader and a baton twirler in school activities. She graduated from San Juan High in May, 1943. She married Lee R. Patterson, April 26, 1944, they later were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1946.

Lee and Norma made a temporary home in Northern Idaho. He left Norma in their rented room while he returned to the Navy Base. While he did his time in the Navy, Norma had several odd jobs, one was running a manually operated elevator in a department store. When Lee was discharged from the Navy, he came home to a 3 ½ month old daughter, Lee Anna.

Lee and Norma raised 5 children, Lee Anna Fennell Wareham (George), Glenn T (Gloria), Lynn J (Linda), Lance K, Forrest Dean (Sherrie). They have 17 grandchildren; 50 great grandkids and 7 great great grandkids.

In 1965 Norma worked at Parley Redd Mercantile until 1977. She then retired to care for her father until he passed; and continued her care for her mom for the next 10 years. She crochet hundreds of afghans during those 10 years.

After her mom passed Lee and Norma did a lot of traveling and camping. They traveled to Alaska, Canada, up the Oregon Coast and several times to visit their kids.

One of her favorite things was gathering her wood supply for the winter. She could use an ax as well as any one of the guys and could stack wood so meticulously that there were no spaces left. It was like a jig saw puzzle finding just the right piece for the right space.

Family was her life, she dearly loved family get togethers and cook outs.
