Kenneth was born on September 9, 1949, in rural Spicer, the son of Floyd and Marcella (Helmer) Wadsworth. He grew up and went to rural country school just north of the Old Mill Inn and then attended New London-Spicer High School. He then attended Willmar Vo-Tech where he received a degree as a machinist.
