Gerald Wayne Bailey age 77, of Water Valley, MS died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Southaven, MS. He was born October 25, 1942 in Millington, TN to the late John and Mary (Thrasher) Bailey. After faithfully serving his country in the Army during Vietnam, Gerald worked as a section gang foreman for Illinois Central Rail Road from 1966 to 1984. He was a member of First Christian Church, and also served as Commander of the American Legion for over thirty years. Gerald enjoyed fishing, hunting, especially turkey and coon hunting, and loved sponsoring Ducks Unlimited.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Services will follow at 6:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Jerry Holt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Bailey; one son, Jim Bailey (Teresa) of Iuka, MS; one sister, Fredia Wright (Ronnie) of New Albany, MS; five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by one son, Ken Bailey; and a grandson, Dustin Buice.
