Glenda, born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, was the first of twelve children to Glen and Marcella Burlison. Glenda loved growing up on a farm, raising animals and learning to cook at an early age. When Glenda was 16 years old, the family relocated to Albany, Oregon. She graduated from Albany Union High School in 1967, where she played the drums in the high school band. Glenda attended Merritt Davis Business College in Salem, Oregon, from 1967-1969, and then went to work for the State of Oregon.

While vacationing in Long Beach, California with her cousins, she met the love of her life, Patrick Moore, who was in the US Navy. They wed November 6, 1970, in Garnett, Kansas. They made their home in Stayton and Glenda actively taught skin care for Mary Kay Cosmetics for 20 years and continued to be a consultant until her death. As her children grew, she also worked as a travel agent. She loved to travel!

Glenda had no doubt that faith, family, and fun should be experienced and cherished. She saw our lives as a dot in time and therefore we must live in the present. Love, forgive, and help when we’re able. She had an uncanny ability to make a stranger feel loved. Glenda fought health issues most of her life, yet never complained. She tried to find the positive in every situation. If she was sitting in a hospital bed, she would say, “I must be helping a doctor or nurse learn something new”. She lived her life by Proverbs 3:5-6.

Glenda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Patrick; children Kimberly (Scott) Knox, John Moore, and Billie (Dan) Kemper; grandchildren Cassie, William, Alexandra, Madison, Colton, and Hunter; mother Marcella Burlison; sister Debbie (Greg) Lindgren; brothers Dale (Carolyn) Burlison, Bruce Burlison, Dennis (Sue) Burlison, Barry Burlison, Larry (Sandy) Burlison, and Kevin (Victoria) Burlison; and over 50 nieces and nephews. Glenda was preceded in death by her father Glen and brothers David, Duane, Terry, and Perry.

In lieu of flowers, Glenda’s family ask that you share kindness with all who you meet. A simple act of kindness could mean a great deal to a stranger. If you feel compelled to donate a monetary gift, Glenda’s favorite charities are Wounded Warriors, Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree, and World Vision.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 23, at 11 am at Bethel Baptist Church, 645 Cleveland Avenue, Aumsville, Oregon. To honor Glenda, please consider wearing her signature color, pink, if attending.
