HAROLD DEAN BLACK
Harold Dean Black, age 86, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Mount Vernon, Missouri.

Harold was born May 17, 1933 in Webb City, son of the late Chet and Juanita Black. He grew up and attended school in Webb City, and worked as a truck driver for Plagman & Downes in Joplin from 1949 until 1953. He then served in the United States Army where he was stationed for some time in Alaska. He returned to Missouri, and went to work for Eagle Picher as a welder, and worked for them until his retirement in 1996 after 36 years. He attended Calvary Baptist Church of Joplin.

During his spare time, Harold became a master mechanic, working on cars for years out of his home. He really enjoyed his time working on family and friends vehicles.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Black.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Beverly A. Davis Black; two sons, Rick Black and wife Shani of Joplin, and Randy Black and wife Amy of Carthage, Missouri; grandchildren, Elias Black, Evan Black, Jessica Friskey and husband Matt all of Joplin, and Brooke Heffley and husband Cody of Webb City; great-grandchildren, Eli, Camdyn, and Bellamy.

Private graveside service will be held in Wild Rose Cemetery with Pastor Daniel H. Wermuth, II. officiating.
Services under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
