Jimmy "Rex" Palmer, 80 passed away at his home on Wednesday April 22nd, 2020.

Rex was born June 30, 1939 and he was the son of the late Ewin and Winnie Palmer and the brother of Gary Palmer, Jan Apple (Ted) and Debby Cumby (Ralph).

He was the father of Jimmy Palmer(Angie), Vicki Allison (Mike) and Steven Zacharias. He was the step father of Geoff Walker and Trudy Hulett (Hollis). Rex so loved all the grandchildren, Zachary (Brokke) Allison and Micah Allison, Hunter and Seth Price, Taylor Palmer, Wyatt and Lewis Greer and Angelina Hulett and great grandchildren Gabriel Price and Laurel and Judah Allison.

Rex graduated from Upperman High School in 1957 and enjoyed every minute of his high school years. He owned Algood Upholstery Shop for 24 years from 1969 to 1993. He was a self taught and highly accomplished craftsman who specialized in restoring quality antique furniture so it could be enjoyed for generations to come.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years Filomena Palmer. It is well known that Rex had three enduring loves, Filomena, his first car, a 1940 ford convertible that he restored and Vanderbilt athletics. Rex strove to be the best man he could be and leaves us all with a fine example of what it means to be always kind. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends both old and new.

Graveside service at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery and a celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
