Eugene S. Taylor ABINGTON, PA Eugene S. Taylor, 92, formerly of Ewing Township, NJ, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at the Abington Memorial Hospital in PA. Born in North Wildwood, NJ, he lived on and worked the family farm in Cape May until the age of 23, when he moved to Rutgers University campus. Gene attended Rutgers University, the College of New Jersey and Rider University, graduating from Rutgers with a degree in agriculture. He retired from the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, where he worked as a statistician. Gene was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ewing and enjoyed singing in the Princeton barbershop chorus for over 20 years. His hobbies included gardening, fly-fishing and golf. Son of the late Norman and Ella (Douglass) Taylor, and widower of the late Anna Ruth (Fox) Taylor, Gene is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Karen Taylor of Bear, DE, and Doug and Carol Taylor of Ewing, NJ, and a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Brad Shropshire of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Bethany, Ryan and his wife, Ashley, Carrie and her husband, Jonathan Lehman, Kelly and her husband, Mike Langford, Gayle and her husband, Nicholas Hatch, Jeffrey, Taylor and Meg, and many great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 11 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of Ewing, 100 Scotch Rd., Ewing, with the Rev. Paul Rhebergen officiating. Interment will follow in the Ewing Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington, NJ. Condolences are welcome at wilsonapple.com.
