Ethel Marie Strickland age 88, of Laurel Hill went to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She will be greatly missed, even though her wings were ready, the hearts of her family were not.
Marie was born December 18, 1931 in Spring City, TN to Luther and Hattie Hurst. She married the love of her life Bennie H. Strickland on October 9, 1954. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports. And in recent years, she became an avid bongo player! Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Hattie Hurst, husband, Bennie and grandson, Benjamin.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Don) Pickren, sons, Randy (Celetha) Strickland and Timmy (Carla) Strickland, sister, Sue (Danny) Bell, grandchildren, Gretchen, Brandi, Tyler, Zeb, Seth, Lane, Dakota and Calie and great-grandchildren, Cabance, Blakely, Kypton, Bentley, Barrett, Zaedyn and Nolen and numerous family and friends. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center, North Okaloosa Hospital and Covenant Hospice.
