DeKALB - David Junior Allison, 68, of DeKalb, Illinois, died on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.
He was born on May 22, 1945, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, the son of Tom Allison and Agnes (Denman) Burns. He married Linda Stanard on July 6, 1968, in Genoa.
David worked for Barber-Greene/Caterpillar in DeKalb, retiring after 35 years of service. He was very friendly to all people and would compliment them to see them smile. His love for music ranged from 1970s to country music and he was always listening to tunes while taking his walks in town or mowing his grass.
He earned a first degree black belt in karate and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Allison of DeKalb; two daughters, Brenda (James) Butz of DeKalb and Sarah (Brent) Bell of Rochelle; his mother, Agnes Burns of Iowa; six grandchildren; four sisters, Donna (Ray) Mancillas, Diana "Jodi" Allison, Debra (John) Klemm, and Debbie Wagner; his brother-in-law, Dean Lundgren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Allison; his step-father, Lester Burns, who raised him with his mother; and one sister, Darlene Lundgren.
Funeral service at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with the Rev. Mark Foster officiating. Burial in Pleasant Ridge-Willow Cemetery, Richland Center, Wisconsin.
