Dianne Morgan Thompson, 70 of Cordele, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Americus and was the daughter of Dorothy W. Morgan and the late Robert E. Morgan, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Thompson, III and her brother, Ronnie Morgan and also her grandparents, George and Carrie Morgan and John and Hattie Worley. Due to the government regulations, a private graveside service only will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2020. The service will be live-streamed from www.raineyfuneral.com and Rainey Family Funeral Service Facebook page. Dianne was a graduate of Crisp County High School's 1968 Rebels. A secretary for Lilly Co-op and Farmers Choice, she retired early due to MS. She had been an active member of Cordele First Baptist Church and the Pathfinder Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Georgia Chapters of National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Autism Speaks Society, Cancer Relay For Life and MADD Society, and the Byromville Women's Club. She is survived by her son, Al Thompson and his fiance, Daisy Mones, who was also Dianne's loving and trusted caregiver for over two years and a daughter, Monica T. Peek of Ellaville; her mother, Dorothy Morgan of Arabi; a sister and her husband, Elaine and Tim Phelps of Byromville; and four grandchildren, Hannah Morrow, Tyler Thompson, Weston Thompson and Madilynn Thompson.
