Lionel Ned Hardcastle, Sr.

August 6, 1912 - April 18, 1976

MR. HARDCASTLE
Ned Hardcastle, 61, of 626 Berkeley Ct., Ontario, died April 18, 1976 at San Antonio Community Hospital. A structural steel worker, he was a native of Arkansas and an Ontario resident 24 years. Member of Long Beach Masonic Lodge No. 655, the Scottish Rite, Long Beach, Al Bekel Shrine, Long Beach and the Iron Workers Local No. 433, Los Angeles. Survived by a son, Ned Hardcastle, Jr. of Ontario; four brothers, Otis of La Puente, Sam of St. Louis, Mo., Dallas of Wafford Heights, Dewey of Taft; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Nelson of Blythe and Mrs. May Horn of Oregon. Services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday at the Draper Chapel. Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Draper Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Census records state the Lionel Ned Hardcastle was born in Oklahoma. His parents lived in Tennessee and married there then moved to Oklahoma and Texas then on to California.

He married Lois Rebecca (unknown); she was born in Illinois and the 1940 census tells us where she lived in 1935 was in Zion, Lake County, Illinois. Another record tells us that her mother's maiden name was Hullett.
