MADILL -- Services for Royce Talmadge Allen, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Roger Parker officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home. Military honors will be by the American Legion and VFW.
Born June 30, 1918, in Anniston, Ala., to the late Charles A. and Geneva M. Woods Allen, he died July 7, 2004, at the local hospital.

Raised in Alabama and Oklahoma, he served in the Army during World War II and moved to Madill in 1953 from Woodford. He was a farmer-rancher. He was a member of Madill Roundup Club, Farm Bureau and First United Methodist Church. He and Hilda Rawson were married on Sept. 2, 1941, in Galveston, Texas. They started the Texoma volunteer fire department.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; four daughters, Joanna Haught, Kingston, Frances Allen, Linda Landgraf and Sue Woods, all of Madill; a brother, James, Ardmore; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, R.C. and Jesse "Cotton;" a sister, Gladys Wheeler; and two grandsons.

Bearers will be Toss Crow, George Smith, Hal Cochran, Jack McConnell, Aaron Dry, Nelson Landgraf and Milford Clement. Honorary bearers are Mark Landgraf, Luke Brown, Jeff and Mike Dollar, Dan Brown, Allen Cox, Jessie Couch, Matt and Marcus Tilley.

Family visitation is from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
