David E. Coles, III known by his family & friends as Trae, was born 3-20-1975 and departed this life on Friday 4-17-2020. He was born and raised in Roanoke, VA., and the oldest of three sons. He was baptized at an early age at High Street Church. He was educated in Roanoke City Public Schools and graduated from William Fleming High School in 1994. He was employed by the VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. Trae was an avid gamer, an artist, he loved to laugh, to learn, especially about different people and cultures to read, liked to talk and listen to the stories of the veterans where he worked. David was preceded in death by a daughter Zarya A. Coles, his father David E. Coles, Jr., his maternal grandparents Charles R. & Pearl A. Alexander, paternal grandparents David E. & Yvonne P. Coles.
Those left to cherish his memory, the apple of his eye his daughter Akaylynea C. Coles, his parents Ahondryea C. & W. Tyrone Brooks, his brothers Wryene S. Brooks & Wyndam S. Brooks all of Roanoke and a sister Tara Matthews Virginia Beach, VA. His former wife Donna A. Coles. Aunts: Marchetta A. Jones, {Roger} Ruby Coles, {Buckingham Co., VA} and Constance Coles Austin. {Richmond, VA} Uncles: Donald Coles, {Fairfax, VA} Troy Coles, and Samuel Coles both of Roanoke. His God father Rodney Hopson, two little sisters Trista Smith and Courtney Perry, an exchange student Roy Munsterman {Holland, the Netherlands} special friends Shannon Brown, Keith Davis, Teresa Little, and a host of other family, friends and his furry companion Jinx. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
