Sarah Ruth Garrett, 84, of Tyler, passed away on April 27, 2020, in Whitehouse, TX.

She was born December 1, 1935, in Troup, TX to the late William Delmer and Verda Arden Neel.

She will be laid to rest in Mixon Cemetery after a private family service with Pastor Mark Lewis officiating.

Sarah was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love for God showed in all aspects of her life. She had a true servant heart and left a lasting impact on all that knew her. She spent her career in banking as Auditor and Teller. She loved cooking and baking for her family, gospel singing, gardening, and antiquing. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, Tyler. She taught young children in Sunday School and was head of the Women's Ministry for years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Garrett, sister, Mattie Bradford, and brother, Lynn Neel.

She is survived by her sons, Randy Garrett of Tyler and Ronald Garrett of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law, Marvena and John Meler of Tyler; a sister Joyce Husketh of Tyler; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Judy Neel of Whitehouse, Glynn and Donna Neel of Tyler; grandchildren, Derek Meler and wife Brianna of Nashville, TN, Meghan Meler of Raleigh, NC, Johnnie Morgan and husband Tyger of Danielsville, GA, William Shepard of El Dorado Springs, MO; great-grandchildren, Hayley Morgan, and Kelsey Morgan.
