Ava Duke King, age 94 of East Flat Rock, died Tuesday afternoon, September 5th, 2017 at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in North Carolina; a daughter of the late Woody Henry Duke and Lola Jane Osteen Duke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leroy King; two brothers; six sisters; her great niece, Cindy Parker Garner and by her great-nephew, Craig Davenport, two very special people in her life.

She resided in Virginia Beach, VA and Augusta, GA prior to moving to East Flat Rock, where she was a member of Pinecrest Presbyterian Church. She worked many years and retired from Puritan Mills. Following her retirement, she was a sitter with the young and elderly and worked at an adult day care until she was 80.

Mrs. King is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the employees at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation and the Four Seasons Palliative Team for the loving care they gave Aunt Ava.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8th, 2017 at Shepherd Memorial Park.
