Ora Rhodes Henderson, age 100 of Hendersonville, died Sunday, September 10th, 2017 while at Cherry Springs Village Assisted Living. She was born June 29th, 1917 in Henderson County; a daughter of the late James Vol Rhodes and Ida Beck Rhodes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Henderson; four brothers, Bruce, Frank, Holt and Bert Rhodes; and by four sisters, Leota Stewart, Jane Hammond, Lucretia Fondren and Bryte Sorrell.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County; Mrs. Henderson was a very active member of Balfour Baptist Church, where she was active in the church choir.
She is survived by three nieces, Laura, Martha and Angela; and by two nephews, Larry and Gene.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14th, 2017 at Balfour Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Joe Lund. Burial will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park.
No formal visitation is planned.
