Dorothy Mae Hughs, 75, of Mahomet formerly of Westville passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 9:50am. Dorothy was born on August 4, 1932, in Vermilion Grove, IL, the daughter of Henry Lee and Zelma (Harrington) Moore. Both her parents preceded her in death.
Dorothy was wed to John Hughs, who preceded her in death. She will be missed by: her three children, Robert (Sue) Edwards of Florida, Carl Edwards of Danville, & Sandra (Brian) Beherns of Mahomet, IL; her five grandchildren, Wayne Edwards, Jesse Jo Edwards, Jeremy Edwards, Bret
Beherns, & Emily Beherns; her two great grandchildren, J.J. Edwards & Carlie Edwards; and her sister, Helen Hohmann of Springfield, IL.
Dorothy attended the Central Park Christian Church in Tilton and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 210 of Georgetown. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, August 16, 2007, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. Pastor Raymie Gordon will officiate the service.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Per Dorothy's wishes, she will be cremated and will be buried privately. The family requests that memorial donations be
given to Provena Hospice
