Geneva Eloise Payne, 97, of Shirley, AR, passed from this life at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 25, 2020. She was born on January 26, 1923, in Cordova, KY, to Everett and Anna Rae (Sechrest) Doane. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Payne.

Geneva grew up on a tobacco farm in Kentucky, where she enjoyed playing music with her family. For many years she played the mandolin with her family. Later she played the organ at home and occasionally played it at church. Some of her favorite activities were fishing and working crossword puzzles.

The memory of Geneva Payne will be cherished by her son, William (Fran) Payne; her grandchildren, Valerie, James and J.W.; five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
