Linda Marie Herrmann, 70, of Shumway, IL, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home.
Private family services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham with burial at Shumway Methodist Church Cemetery in Shumway, IL. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life of Effingham County.
Linda was born on December 26, 1949, in La Harpe, IL the daughter of Clifford and Catherine (McDonald) Polson. She married Gail Herrmann and they have celebrated 35 years of marriage.
Linda was a caregiver for many children in the local community. She was kind, patient, and had the sweetest heart which was evident in how she cared for her children. Family was very important to Linda, especially her grandchildren. She liked spending time with her sister Karen. She was a great cook and an avid dog lover. Linda enjoyed listening to Elton John. She also found joy in having her morning coffee on the back porch with her husband Gail.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gail Herrmann of Shumway; sons, Aaron (Cayla) Myers of Dieterich; Jeremy Ford of Decatur; daughter, Kortney (Brian) Cooper of Shumway; grandchildren, Bryonna, Cali Rae, Brody, Gavin, Edee, and Huxley; sister, Karen Mahaffey of Beecher City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Amada; and sisters, Martha Blough and Sandy Embry.
