After her long battle with cancer, Doris Lorraine Wheeler, age 88, of Seymour, Tennessee would like to let you know that her work here is done. On May 17, 2019 she received an offer she couldn’t refuse. A reunion with her family and friends she had not seen in a long time and promised to see again.

Doris (mom) will always be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, compassion and generosity toward her family and friends. When anyone needed help, she was the first person called upon for so many reasons, including her old school values and kind advice.
She loved when spring came around each year so she could get outside and tend to her beautiful yard and flowers. She must have been 80 years old before she finally agreed to stop driving her big riding lawnmower and accept a helping hand. What a strong, independent woman she had always been!

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Jess John Wheeler, her mother, Ollie Palmer, her father, Manley Palmer, and her brother, Buddy Palmer.

Doris is survived by three sons, Danny Watson and wife Ruby, Mike Watson and wife Judy both of Saraland, Alabama; and Ken Watson and wife Terry of Oahu, Hawaii; her sisters, Juanita Gardner, Ruth Ray, Neva Perine; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
