FUNERAL OF ROBT. G. BERRETT, JR.
Held in the North Ogden Meeting House Yesterday.

The meeting house in North Ogden was crowded to overflowing yesterday afternoon by a large concourse of the relations and friends of R. G. Berrett, Jr., deceased. Bishop Wallace and his counselors were on the stand and among those present were S. F. Berrett, brother of the deceased, who had come from Richburg; James Loftus, his brother-in-law, who came from Hyrum, Cache county, and his brother-in-law Oliver Bess and his family, who had come from Salt Lake, and the immediate family of the deceased, consisting of his wife and eight children. There was also present John Watson, manager of Z.C.M.I. Ogden; Ben E. Rich superintendant and Scott Anderson, secretary of Ogden Equitable Co-op of which institution Mr. Berrett was a director. This Institution was closed during the afternoon as a token of respect to the deceased.

The deceased was 50 years of age. He came to Utah in 1849 and was therefore a pioneer. At first he located in Mound Fort and engaged in farming. he removed to North Ogden in 1854 and his resided there ever since. From time to time he was elected to numerous local offices, all of which he filled with credit and satisfaction. He was twice elected justice of the peace.

The meeting was addressed by William G ddes of Plain City; Ben E. Rich, John Watson, William Barker, James Gale, Sydney Stevens, W.G. Cregan and the bishop, all of whom spoke in terms of the highest praise of the deceased. At the close of the services which were most impressive an opportunity was afforded to all present to view the remains, after which the body was quietly removed and carried to its last resting place.

DEATH OF ROBERT BERRETT

Mr. Robert Berrett died at North Ogden yesterday after a sickness extending over a period of three months. The immediate cause of death was dropsy.
Mr. Berrett was a old settler in Weber County and a leading character in the place of his home. For a long time past and till his sickness incapacitated him for the duty he acted as correspondent for THE STANDARD. The funeral will take place to -day at 3 o'clock p.m. Friends are invited.
