Willard Uriah Cragun grew to manhood on the farm. He acquired his own large farm adjoining his father's land. His orchards bore some of the best peaches, pears, cherries, apples and berries that could be raised in that locality. He was considered the largest, if not the most successful, fruit grower in Pleasant View in the early days. Much of the prosperity of Pleasant View was due to his keen knowledge of agriculture.
