Erma Joann Edwards, 87, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 9:00 am April 25, 2020 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
She was born February 6, 1933 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Irvin and Opal (Dagg) Somers.
Erma married Jack L. Johnson on November 2, 1956 in Hernando, Mississippi.
They were blessed with nearly fifty-eight years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 22, 2014. Erma later married Allen Edwards and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Allen, Erma is survived by her son, C. Johnson and wife, S. of Mount Vernon, Illinois; granddaughter; grandsons; great-granddaughter; sisters, Lois of Largo, Florida, Marilyn of Largo, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Jack, Erma was preceded in death by her infant twin sons, Jeffery and David Johnson; sister, Maxine Poston; and brother, Jack Somers.
Mrs. Edwards was the Vice President at First Bank and Trust and later the President at Texico State Bank. She was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church and will be dearly missed.
