Marjorie "Margie" Augustine, 77, Hays, died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at her home.
She was born January 16, 1943 in Schoenchen, the daughter of Matt and Clara (Wolf) Zimmerman.
On September 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to Elmer A. Augustine in Schoenchen, and they celebrated 56 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on September 27, 2016.
She was a farmwife, a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and a volunteer at Via Christi Village. Margie enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, and going to casinos. She loved spending time and visiting with her family and friends and was always willing to help anybody.
Survivors include three brothers; Dennis Zimmerman and wife Becky of Hays, Sherman Zimmerman of Shawnee, and Steve Zimmerman and wife Debbie of Topeka, a sister; Elaine Schmidt and husband Jerry of Hays, a sister-in-law; Alvina "Tootsie" Zimmerman of Hays, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers; Gordon Zimmerman and Wayne Zimmerman and his wife Arlene, two sisters; Mary Ann Wasinger-Herl and her husbands Julie Wasinger and Virgil Herl and Betty Leiker and her husband Nobert, and a sister-in-law; Mary Lou Zimmerman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Nick Parker officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Tuesday and from 9:30 am until 10:30 on Wednesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. A vigil service followed by a rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or to masses.
