Carla Nadene (Brooks) Reed, age 60, of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:24 PM, Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Carla was born on August 14, 1959 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Jack and Lorene (Gott) Brooks. She married Lonny Reed on May 28, 1983 and he survives in Harrisburg.
Carla was a reading aide at East Side Elementary for Harrisburg Unit #3 school district. Previously she was a substitute teacher for many years. She was a member of Saline Ridge Baptist Church, where she played the piano. Carla was a supporter of Saline County Stockmen’s Association and the Saline County 4H. Additionally, she was the record keeper for the 4H for many years. She loved to camp, especially at Hillman Ferry Campground in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Professional Bull Riders. She loved boating, her students, the teachers and her many nieces and nephews. However, her world revolved around her daughter and her granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, Lonny, Carla is survived by her daughter, Brianna and her husband, Cody, of Harrisburg; granddaughter; several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great - great nieces and nephews.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents and mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Vevia Reed.
Private graveside services will be held.
