Surviving are her daughters, Chris (Alan) Harney of Kingston, Debbie (Steve) Fouch, of Adelphi and Robin (Bob) Matson, of Chillicothe. She was blessed with grandchildren, Julie (Dave) Bethel, Jamie (Thad) Dixon, Matthew Fouch (Kimberly Young), Nathan Fouch (Alena Andrews) and Eric (Erin) Matson. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Barb” to great-grandchildren, Trace, Reagan and Reese Dixon, Dylan, Megan, Lilly, Nicholas, Uriah and Ezra Fouch, Wesley Matson and great-great-granddaughter, Mahalia Lorenzo. Her siblings, Marilyne (Charles) Caldwell, Rosemary Cox, Charlene Hertzer, Wanda Mae Neff (deceased) and Robert Neff meant the world to her throughout her life, as well as nieces and nephews from both the Neff and Adkins families.
Barbara was co-owner of Adkins Tire and Battery until 1971. She worked at Tudor’s dress shop as a bookkeeper before graduating from Southeastern Business College and becoming a case worker with Ross County Job and Family Services. It was there that she forged a life-long friendship with special co-workers Lanette Gerchy and Mike (Phyllis) Anderson. “Miss Barb” taught Sunday School at Liberty Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was devoted to her church, its congregation and service to the Lord.
In keeping with her wishes, Graveside services will be observed by the family under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
