They removed in 1818 to Knox County, Ohio and one year later they purchased 100 acres in Chester township, Knox County (that portion that became Morrow County). Enumerated in Chester township in 1820, 1830, 1840, and 1850. John built a mill and continued in that business for several years. John and Mary deeded 104 acres to son Peter 3 Dec 1832. Will of John dated 16 Jan 1864 Morrow County named daughters Phebe Dodd, Betsy Washer, and Maria Selby, son Lewis F., daughter in law Sarah DeWitt, granddaughter, Harriet DeWitt, sons Peter, Isaac, John Vand, and Richard, and children of son Joseph deceased. Filed 24 Mar 1866. Mary d. 22 Aug 1864 81y 5m 7d (bible and ts) and John d. 18 Mar 1866 (bible) buried River Cliff Cemetery, Gilead township, Morrow County. John has no dates inscribed on his marker.
