Christopher Shawn Shelton 45, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2020, at Advent Health, Shawnee Mission after a brief illness.

Shawn was born on May 25, 1974 in Waverly, MO to parents, Paul and Joyce (Michaels) Shelton. Shawn attended elementary through 7th grade at Carrollton Public Schools. He started playing the tenor saxophone and continued through high school and participated in KU marching band. After the family moved to Overland Park, KS he attended Shawnee Mission Schools and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1992. Shawn attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in Biology/Genetics. After graduation, he moved back to Overland Park and worked at Walmart in the cash office at multiple Walmart locations. He often assisted in training and implementing new policies in the cash offices and in the loss prevention department.

Shawn made a profession of faith at a young age and lived his life to serve. He attended Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, KS. Shawn was called a friend and mentor by many. If Shawn saw a need, he did his best to meet that need amongst his friends, family members and strangers. Shawn loved music, attending concerts, traveling, spending time with friends and family, spoiling his nieces and nephews and never shied away from playing a game of cards. Shawn had a Bible ministry and led Bible studies. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. His impact is far reaching and his legacy of compassion and caring will live on in the testimony he left with everyone who knew him.

Shawn is survived by his parents, Paul and Joyce Shelton of the home; a brother, Tim and his wife Julie Shelton and daughter Abigail of Olathe, KS; a sister, Julie Anne Crocker and husband Jesse and children, Adrian, Kaylie and Jesse of Overland Park, KS; a special friend Stacy Paxton and her children of Kansas City, KS. Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Marie Michaels of Norborne, MO and Paul and Wilma Shelton of Bosworth, MO.
