Mait was born July 16, 1929 at Rinard, IL to George Allen and Barbara Ellen (Hamilton) Flexter. He married Betty Barton on February 10th, 1951 at Cisne, IL.
Mait was a retired Wayne County Deputy. He liked to fish, golf, and drink coffee at the Hot Biscuit.
He was a member of the Cisne Legion and a board member of North Wayne Ambulance Service.
Surviving Mait are his wife Betty of Cisne, Il; 2 daughters - Dana Johnson (& her husband Willie) of Flora, IL; Terri Lence (& her husband Ken) of Cisne, IL; 3 sons - Mike Flexter of Cisne, IL; George Flexter (& his wife Kim) of Altamont, IL; and Matt Flexter of Cisne, IL. Also surviving are 3 sisters – Maxine Crawford of Fairfield, IL; Beulah Logan of Benton, IL and Mary Ellen Bender (& her husband Owen) of Jacksonville, FL; 2 brothers – Tom Flexter (& his wife Jean) of Richmond, MO; Carl Flexter (& his wife Verna) of Elmo City, OK. 7 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grand-children also survive.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one son Donald Maitland Flexter.
Funeral services for Mait Flexter will be Friday, Aug. 17th at 11:00AM at the Hosselton Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Gunion Cemetery.
