Jeremy L. Hodges, age 43, of Jefferson City, Missouri, formerly of East Prairie, passed away April 22, 2020 in Dixon, Missouri.

Born October 13, 1976, the son of James L. Hodges and Cindy (Delashmet) Hodges, he was a self-employed attorney at law, and reserve police officer for the City of Portageville.

On August 21, 2010, Jeremy married Susan (Marks) Hodges of Alto Pass, Illinois, in Hawaii; she survives of the home.

Jeremy was a graduate of East Prairie High School. He graduated from Shawnee Community College with an associate degree. He went on to graduate the police academy at Southeast Missouri State University. He then earned a bachelor's degree at Central Methodist University. Jeremy achieved his academic goals graduating from Cooley Law School in 2012. He was a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bar practicing in state and federal courts. He was an active member and attorney for the Missouri Federation of Police Chiefs. He has additionally served the state of Missouri working with the East Prairie Police Department and the Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Safety.

In addition to his mother and father, Jeremy is survived by four sons, Nicholas (Alyzia) Hodges and Nathan Hodges, both of East Prairie, Deacon and Weston Hodges, both of Jefferson City; two daughters, Kydie and Trinity Hodges, both of Jefferson City; One brother, James R. (Maryann) Hodges of East Prairie; three sisters, Mary Hodges of Sikeston and Alicia Hodges of East Prairie, and Dakota Jordan of Sikeston; and one grandchild, Carter Hodges. Jeremy is also survived by his father and mother-in-law John and Vivian Marks of Alto Pass, Illinois, multiple brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with funeral services Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Minister Ashley Swims officiating.

Interment will follow at the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for the service will be Nicholas Hodges, Nathan Hodges, James R. Hodges, Hugh Kirkley, Corey Loomis, John Delashmet, and Jamie Jackson. Honorary pallbearer Dylan Hodges.)

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to a fund to support the children.
