Al, age 77, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 14th, 2012.

Beloved husband of Ruth and devoted father of Debbie, Alberta and Albert. Grandfather of Darcy, Justin, Matthew, Meagan, Joey, Jonathan and Lauren.

Al was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin, and is survived by daughter-in-law Donna and son-in-law Richard.

A native of Gardner, Louisiana, Al is survived by sisters Tomme, Bette and brother Howard Jr.

Al was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Navy for three years on the aircraft carrier USS Boxer. Following military service, Al worked for NASA Ames for 35 years as a welder, fabricator and shop foreman.

An avid sportsman, Al will be missed by the many friends and fellow club members who shared his enthusiasm for hunting and fishing. Al will also be missed for the mentoring and tutoring he provided as a coach and manager for his children's and grandchildren's various softball and baseball teams.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's of Cupertino 10110 North De Anza Blvd., Cupertino. A celebration of Al's life will follow at the parish hall.
