Born September 14, 1917 in Quincy, Russ was the son of LeRoy and Rebecca F. Hoffman Wolf. He married Betty J. Simpson on December 21, 1940 in
Palmyra, Missouri. She survivies.
Mr. Wolf was a member of Bodley Masonic Lodge No. 1, Quincy Consistory, Quincy Shrine Club, the Belgian Hitch Shrine Club, Ansar Shrine Temple of
Springfield, and a charter member of the Quincy Shrine Club Skeeter Patrol.
Russ was a past member of the Quincy High Twelve Club and volunteered at Blessing Hospital. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Russ started his career as a tool and die maker for a small arms company in St. Louis and then was employed in the experimental department at McDonald-Douglas Aircraft until February, 1951 . He returned to Quincy and started the Wolf Wrecking Company which he operated until 1965. After
retiring from the wrecking company he then sold real estate for the Ken Bigelow Realty Company.
Also surviving are three sons, Jerry W. Wolf and his wife Robin of Poquoson, VA., Michael "Mike" Wolf and his wife Melanie and Jeffrey K. Wolf and his wife Gina, both of Quincy; six grandchildren, Heather Carter and her
husband Brett of Poquoson, VA., Kathryn Wolf of Sacramento, CA., Nicholas Wolf, Ashley Wolf, Amber Wolf, and Joshua Wolf, all of Quincy; one great granddaughter of Poquoson, VA.; one brother, Vernon Wolf and his wife Nora of Marshfield, MO.; and one sister Bernita Zoller and her
husband Carl of Quincy.
Mr. Wolf was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. At Mr. Wolf's request, cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral services.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home. Bodley Masonic Lodge No. 1 will conduct services immediately before the funeral service.
Memorial may be made to the Blessing Heart Center.
