He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peter S. and Lizbeth Chapin, of Momence, Illinois. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Penelope J. Chapin, and his dog Mitt. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a carpenter.
Peter was a member of the Blue Island LDS Ward. He enjoyed genealogy, gardening and was an active arborist.
Private services will be held with a celebration of life at a later date.
