Peter J. Chapin, 68, of Momence, Illinois, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at his residence. He was born on December 10, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Jay C. and Cynthia Hendry Chapin.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peter S. and Lizbeth Chapin, of Momence, Illinois. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Penelope J. Chapin, and his dog Mitt. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a carpenter.
Peter was a member of the Blue Island LDS Ward. He enjoyed genealogy, gardening and was an active arborist.
Private services will be held with a celebration of life at a later date.
