Anna Virginia Donaldson McKenzie, age 85, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her home near Charleston.

Born September 30, 1934, at Charleston, to the late Overton Donaldson and Essie Marie Williams Donaldson, she had lived in the Charleston area most of her life where she had been employed with the Brown Shoe Company and then later with the National Lock Company in Sikeston until her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Police and Fire and in 1972, was honored by the with the Community Betterment award by the City of Charleston.

On March 1, 1952, she married Thomas A. McKenzie who preceded her in death on August 17, 1994.

Surviving are her daughters, Beverly J. Phillips of Marble Hill and Donna G. (Daniel) Hopper of Charleston; grandchildren, Chad (Teresa) Farquhar, Jason (Amy) Farquhar, Bethany (Andy) Green, Tim Hopper and Delana (Josh) Hileman; great grandchildren, Tessia Smith, Madaline Farquhar, Kevin Green, Hannah Faquhar, Jaci Farquhar, Caden Hileman and Emma Green; great great granddaughter, Elliott Johnson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn A. Farquhar; her brother, Charles Overton Donaldson and her sisters, Bertha Lee Donaldson and Thelma Augusta Files.

Private visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Dewayne Kirkpatrick, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Andy Green, Kevin Green, Chad Farquhar, Tim Hopper, Josh Hileman and Jason Farquhar.
