FORT ATKINSON-Frederick W. Alwin, 87, of 323 Merchants Ave., died last night at the Commodore Rest Home, Madison, after a long illness. Born April 28, 1879, in Waushara County, he was the son of William and Augusta Helm Alwin. He married Hulda Theel Feb. 18, 1901, in Budsin and she died March 15, 1937. He moved to Fort Atkinson in 1963 from Wautoma. He had been a streetcar motorman in Milwaukee for 35 years before retiring in 1944. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma. Surviving is a son, Walter, Fort Atkinson; a daughter, Mrs. John Wachholz, Wayne, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Adolph, Green Lake. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dunlap Memorial Home, with burial in Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday.
