Jean Hunter, age 80, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her residence. She was born August 28, 1939, to Willie Joe and Ollie Lucille Newsome. Moving from her place of birth, Newton, Alabama, she had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida for the past seven years. Jean loved going to the beach, reading novels written by Danielle Steel, and passing the time solving word games and puzzles. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Bryan Hunter; and one brother, Charles and his wife June Newsome. Jean is survived by one daughter, Kim Lee and husband Jimmy; one granddaughter, Tasha Estes; one grandson, Jared Lee and wife Britany; three great-grandchildren, Padraic, Havery, and Escher; one sister, Sarah Hill and husband Tom; one niece, Katie Cunningham and husband Dwight; and one nephew, Craig York. A private graveside will be held Friday, April 24, 2020. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Davis- Watkins Funeral Home and Crematory.
