Ruby was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Irwin, Mo., to Henry and Stella (Shea) Little.
On Nov. 30, 1929, in Nevada, Mo., she married Ted R. Clements. They were farming south of Lamar when Ted died suddenly from a heart attack March 4, 1953. A devoted, hard working mother, Ruby cared for their large family and was an inspiration to her family and friends. She worked for Robertson's Dairy for many years and then cooked for the Senior Center. She was an accomplished quilter, gardener and cook, well-known for her hospitality. Ruby was a member of First Baptist Church, of Lamar.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Don and Emily Clements, Loyd and Beverly Clements and Bill and Sue Clements, all of Lamar; two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Bob Selvey, Liberal, Mo., and Thelma and Don Selvey, Lamar; a daughter-in-law, Dixie Clements, Lamar; a sister, Ruth Lowe, Kimberly, Idaho; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Ted; Ruby was preceded in death by a son, Roy Clements; five brothers, Chester, Ernest, Walter, Earl and Marvin Little; and four sisters, Alice Barnes, Lula Bartlett, Pearl Norton and Bessie Little.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
